A magical  dancer stands on point under an old fashioned street lamp. Her face is sad, and she seems lonely, but her pose is graceful and erect.  I modeled her face on the lovely Gloria Grahame, an actress from Hollywood’s golden age who often played bad girls with a heart of gold.   In the background is a land mark of Hallowell, Maine: Brass & Friends Antiques, a place that for years lit  Water Street at night with windows like an Aladdin’s cave.
