This is a small portrait of a new bride’s mother in law putting finishing touches on the wedding gown.  The wedding took place  on the groom’s family land in Mexico.  I formalized most elements of the painting, and played up the contrast between the white gown and the dry wood of the shed.  I finished the portrait off with a border of stylized flowers from the bride’s bouquet, doves and leaves.  It made a very special wedding gift from the bride’s mother.
